High school teacher tests COVID positive in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Amid spike in numbers of Coronavirus in some states, a high school teacher was found positive in Bhubaneswar, informed the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner Prem Chandra Chaudhary today.

“A teacher was tested positive for COVID-19 in a school in Bhubaneswar following which we had closed the school for two days after in consultation with school authorities,” he said.

He said that the BMC is in touch with the school principal and DEO and has kept vigil on other teachers and students.

“We found that the new infectee had come in contact with many students during teaching. The vigil has been kept on the school. If anyone is found with COVID symptoms will undergo test,” Chaudhary told media.

The IRC Village High School in Nayapalli area reopened today after two-day closure.
