Highest 1981 COVID-19 cases reported in Odisha; Kandhamal records all-time-high

Bhubaneswar: Highest 1981 fresh COVID-19 cases were detected in Odisha in the last 24 hours. With this, the state’s tally mounted to 52,653, informed the Government.

While 1225 cases have been reported from different quarantine centres, remaining 756 are local contacts. Contact tracing and followup action is underway, said the Health and Family Welfare Department.

The fresh cases have been reported from all the 30 districts with Khordha registering highest 274 cases followed by Ganjam (267) and  Kandhamal (179).

With the new cases, the number of active cases in the state rose to 15,808. However, 36,478 patients have recovered in the state so far.

It is pertinent to mention here that highest 40,711 number of samples were tested in the state in the last 24 hours. So far 7,65,065 tests have been conducted in the state.
