Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s COVID-19 tally today crossed 90,000-mark after 3384 fresh positive cases, highest single-day spike so far, were detected in the state in the last 24 hours, informed the Government.
Of the total fresh cases detected from all 30 districts, 2128 have been reported from different quarantine centres while remaining 1256 are local contacts. Contact tracing and followup action is underway, said the Health and Family Welfare Department.
Total seven districts reported over 100 fresh cases in a single day with Khordha registering highest 587 cases followed by Cuttack (492) and Sambalpur (182).

With the new cases, the number of active cases in the state rose to 27,672. However, 62,813 patients have recovered in the state so far.
It is pertinent to mention here that total 68,090 number of samples were tested in the state in the last 24 hours. So far 15,53,257 tests have been conducted in the state.
