Highway looters’ gang busted in Odisha capital; 5 held   

Bhubaneswar: Busting a major highway looters’ gang, police arrested five members of the gang, including three minors from Subash Nagar slum area in Dumduma on the city outskirts yesterday.

The Janla police here also seized gold ornaments, 22 mobiles and two bikes from their possessions.

Sources said the two main accused identified as Gobinda Jena of Jankia in Khordha and Sunila Jena alias Mantu of Ogadaon in Nayagarh district were produced before court and later sent to jail custody after the court rejected their bail pleas. The two minor boys will be produced before juvenile justice board today.

The accused are involved in various loots on on NH-16 in Tamando, Patrapada, Aiginia and Janla here. The Khandagiri,Tmando and Janla police has launched a manhunt to nab the looters.
