Bhubaneswar: In view of falling water level in the reservoir, authorities today closed two sluice gates of the Hirakud dam to maintain the water level.
With the closure of 2 gates, the water is currently being discharged through 6 gates of the dam.
At present, the water level is falling at the reservoir with 628.04 ft against total capacity of 630 ft at 6:00 am today, informed Water Resources Department.
Meanwhile, the water level at Rengali dam on Mahanadi River is rising. The water level of the dam was recorded 123.17 metre at 9:00 pm yesterday against the total reservoir capacity level of 123.50 metre.
