Historic Milestone: First cadaveric liver transplant successfully performed at Utkal Hospital

Bhubaneswar: Utkal Hospital proudly announces the successful completion of its first cadaveric liver transplant, marking a historic milestone in the field of organ transplantation in Odisha. The transplant, performed on Wednesday, saw a cadaveric liver extracted from IMS & SUM Hospital and swiftly transported to Utkal Hospital for transplantation.
The surgery, which lasted several hours, was led by a team of esteemed consultants including Dr. Satya Prakash Ray Choudhury , Dr. Salil Kumar Parida Senior Consultant, HPB, GI Surgery & Liver Transplant, Utkal Hospital Dr P. Balachandran Menon Director Liver Transplant & Hepatobiliary Surgery, Dr. Shakti Swaroop Senior Consultant, Liver Transplant Anesthesia AIG Hospital & Team of medical experts.
