Hitech Mobiles launches new range of phones in Odisha

Hitech Mobiles, one of the fastest growing Indian mobile handset brands, launched its new series of smart phones, feature phones and accessories in Odisha market yesterday.

“These products would be made available across all retailers and dealerships of the brand in the state. Latest technology and features at an affordable price make Hitech Mobiles so popular among the customers of the state,” said Sumit Roy, company’s national sales head.

The company sells 30 different models in the market as of now. While 18 of them are feature phones, 12 of them are smart phones. It also sells two different varieties of 3G calling tablets. The feature phones have been priced between Rs 800 to Rs 1950 and the smart phones have been priced between Rs 2300 to Rs 7000.

It also sells mobile accessories such as headset, power bank, Bluetooth headset, car charger etc under the Hi Plus brand.

The company got into mobile accessories business back in 2002. It started its mobile business in 2007 and started selling phones under Hitech Mobiles brand in 2008.

“As of now, the company has two manufacturing plants in Uttarakhand and Maharashtra. Another plant is under construction in West Bengal and it should go on stream by the end of July this year. This plant would be used to manufacture smart phones,” said its sales head Roy.

It may be noted that the company sells three percent of its entire sales in Odisha and targets to take this to ten percent.

The group is aiming for an annual turnover of Rs 500 crores by 2016 – 17. The company is also tying up with the SAARC countries for exporting handsets. They are currently exporting handsets in Nepal & Bhutan and planning to export handsets in Sri Lanka & Bangladesh soon.
