Hoax bomb call at Gurgaon, caller traced to Odisha

Panic struck commuters at Gurgaon’s busy HUDA City Centre Metro station today following a bomb scare, which eventually turned out to be a hoax.

The metro train services at HUDA Metro station were suspended for around 20 minutes till the arrival of police and bomb disposal squad. The personnel scanned the premises thoroughly. This apart, Vyapar Kendra in Sushant Lok area was also scanned to trace the explosives but no bomb was found, police sources informed.

Police swung into action after an unidentified caller called police control room (PCR) at 2.30pmand informed that a bomb had been planted at HUDA City Centre and another bomb is being planted at Vyapar Kendra and hung up.

The mobile phone number of caller has been tracked to Odisha. “We are investigating the call and strict action would be taken against the miscreant,” a senior official of Gurgaon police said.
