Home Guard attacked by ‘lockdown violators’ in Odisha

Nabarangpur: The Umerkote Police today registered a case against a group of youths for allegedly attacking a Home Guard on Wednesday.

Sources said the youths from Sana Bharandi village attacked the Home Guard, Bankim Mandal to take revenge of the Umerkote police action.

Worth mentioning, couple of days back the police intervened a volleyball match where the accused were playing in a village field. As it was a clear violation of lockdown norms, the police took away their ball and net and asked them to return to their houses.

To settle scores with the police, the youths attacked Mandal who was on his way to fetch ration for his family last night.

Based on a complaint filed by the injured Home Guard, the cops registered a case.
