Balasore: Horticulture Extension Worker (Contractual) Manoj Kumar Sahu at the office of Assistant Horticulture Office at Sukruli under Karanjia Sub-division in Mayurbhanj district was caught red-handed by Vigilance officials today while he was accepting bribe of Rs 6,500.

According to the sources, Sahu had demanded the bribe from complainant Chandra Mohan Baipi, a beneficiary, of Sukruli village, for passing of cashew plantation and maintenance under MGNREGS scheme in favour of him.

After receiving the complaint, official of the anti-graft wing Balasore Division laid a trap and caught the Horticulture Extension Worker red-handed today.

Later, the Vigilance sleuths raided residential house of the accused, sources said.
