Hospital ransacked in Odisha’s Balasore over minor boy’s death

Balasore: Locals ransacked Jaleswar hospital in Odisha’s Balasore district today after death of a minor boy allegedly due to medical negligence.

According to reports, a 12-year-old boy of Rajpur village under Jaleswar block was admitted to the hospital after he complained of sickness. A doctor at the hospital declared him dead.

His family members took him home, where they reportedly found him alive. The boy was then taken to Balasore district headquarters hospital, where he was declared brought dead.

Tension erupted following the incident as irate locals vandalised properties and articles at the Jaleswar hospital. They also pelted stones at the house of the concerned doctor of Jaleswar hospital, alleging that negligence on the part of the doctor led to the death of the boy.
