Hot days ahead; Mercury likely to touch 39 degree C in Odisha capital

Bhubaneswar: The heat is set to intensify during Spring season with temperature forecast to rise above 35 degree Celsius across Odisha.

The mercury is likely to rise by two to three degree C in most of the places in the State during the next five days. The capital city of the State is likely to witness heat at 39 degree C during the period.

According to the regional meteorological centre in Bhubaneswar, the weather will remain dry during the next five days. While the temperature is likely to be above 35 degree C in day time, the night temperature may remain below 15 degree C. The change in weather is likely after March 15.

Meanwhile, the OUAT Vice-Chancellor as well as the weather expert, Surendranath Pasupalak, predicted a rise in temperature by 5 to 6 degree C across Odisha from March 10. The mercury is likely to touch 39 degree C in Bhubaneswar. There will be no change in weather till March 13.
