The student of Baunsiapada school had taken the OMR sheet of the Sanskrit paper home before returning it the next day. The Khannagar high school too had returned the answer sheet after the examination was over, sources said.

“They had mistakenly taken the answer sheets hoem and returned it after realising it. We have kept the two answer sheets separately. Tthe Examination Commitee would take a call on thes two cases,” Nanda said.

Meanwhile, the Board has decided that evaluation of answer sheets of HSC examination papers would begin in Odisha from March 17.

A decision to this effect was taken at a videoconferencing at the Odisha Computer Application Centre (OCAC) here on Wednesday.

School and Mass Education minister Debi Prasad Mishra, secretary Usha Padhee, the president of BSE Prof Dakshya Prasad Nanda and BSE Controller of Examinations Dr Nihar Ranjan Mohanty had a detailed discussion with the District Education Officers (DEOs) about the evaluation process.

It was revealed that the evaluation of Regular, Ex-Regular (New) and Ex-Regular (Old) papers would be held at 66 centres.

The minister asked the DEOs to make necessary arrangements for equipment, lights, fans and drinking water in all evaluation centres. He also asked them to make adequate security arrangements in these centres with deployment of local police.

It was decided that a preparatory meeting on evaluation would be held in all evaluation centres on March 16 in the presence of DEOs, chief examiners, deputy examiners, assistant examiners and BSE camp officers. Instructions have been given to all examiners to attend the meeting, sources said.

The DEOs have been asked to make alternative arrangements if any examiner remains absent during evaluation.

It was also decided that no examiner would be allowed to bring his/her mobile phone to the evaluation centre.

“Priority would be given to ensure transparent and correct evaluation of each paper. The Board has planned to complete the evaluation in 10-12 days,” the BSE president told reporters after the meeting.
