Huge cache of adulterated cough syrup seized in Odisha; 7 arrested

Sambalpur: Odisha police today arrested seven persons and seized a huge cache of adulterated cough syrups from their possessions here in the district.

The incident took place at Remed Chhak on outskirts of Sambalpur town.

According to reports, seven youth including a kingpin and four linkmen were travelling on three motorcycles with huge quantity of cough syrups from Bargarh to Sambalpur town for supply. Acting on a tip-off, a team of Sambalpur police stopped them at Remed Chhak and apprehended them.

The officials seized their motorcycles and recovered 600 bottles cough syrup of a reputed brand, 5 litre adulterated cough syrups, Rs 30,000 cash and nine mobile phones from their possessions.
