Berhampur: The district police today seized huge cache of explosives near Chadhayapalli in Buguda area of Odisha's Ganjam district and arrested four persons in this connection.

Acting on a tip-off, Buguda police raided the place and seized 628 detonators, 70 kg aluminium nitrate, electric wires, batteries and motorcycle from the possession of the accused.

The arrested have been identified as Ranjit Bhuyan, Panu Sahu, Panchu Dakua and Prakash Chandra Gouda. All of them were forwarded to court.

The items were seized from the garage of Panu Sahu, said Buguda police station IIC Sudhanshu Sekhar Mandhata. Sahu was involved in illegal trade of explosives for many years, police sources said.
