Bhubaneswar: In a big seizure of ganja in Odisha Capital, the Revenue Intelligence Department today recovered 5.5 quintals of the contraband item from a vegetable-laden truck.

Acting on a tip-off, the sleuths intercepted the truck near Khandagiri area on National Highway-5 in Bhubaneswar. Taking advantage of the vehicular traffic and congestion on the NH, the driver fled the spot leaving behind the truck.

During a search, the Revenue Intelligence Department officials seized the ganja worth Rs 80 lakh from the vegetable-laden truck.

Sources said the truck carrying ganja was going towards Bihar state from Ganjam district.
