Huge spike! 64 new infected with COVID-19 in Odisha capital; tally crosses 700-mark

Bhubaneswar: In a huge spike in COVID-19 cases in Bhubaneswar, 64 fresh positive cases have been reported in last 24 hours in the city.

Of new cases, 36 have been detected from quarantine centres and 28 are the local contacts, informed Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) today.

With 64 new infected with COVID-19, the tally of confirmed cases crossed 700-mark in Odisha capital. Now, the total number of cases surged to 704 with 368 active cases and 8 deaths.

Also, 13 COVID-19 patients have recovered from the disease yesterday taking the total recovered cases to 327.

Further contact tracing is still continuing. Primary contacts and nearby houses are being quarantined, sanitised and will be under active surveillance, the BMC tweeted.
