Human skeletons found in water tank in Odisha’s Jajpur; probe initiated

Jajpur: Two human skeletons were found today under mysterious circumstances inside a water tank in Nischinta village of Maheswarpur panchayat under Sadar police limits in Jajpur district.

The identity of the two skeletons has not been ascertained yet, a senior official of Sadar PS said.

According to a private source, the skeletal remains were spotted by some locals in a newly-constructed overhead water tank. Gradually, locals congregated at the spot after news of this spread.

“The two mortal remains appear to be human skeletons. The overhead tank was built nearly two years ago and has been lying unused since completion. We hardly get to see the contractor visiting the site. A proper investigation would help reveal the truth,” a resident Manas Kumar Mohapatra stated.

“We got to hear today that there are two human skeletons lying inside the tank. Police have not yet reached the spot. We demand a thorough probe of the deaths,” another resident Sarat Chandra Sahu said.
