Hydrogen-powered train to be ready in India next year: Railway Minister

Bhubaneswar: India is now developing Hydrogen-powered train and it will be ready in 2023, said Union Minister of Railways, Communications and Electronics & Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw here today.

Vaishnaw made this revelation while interacting with students at a private university here.

“Indian Railways is trying to connect the remote and unconnected areas of the country with railway network through its Gati Shakti terminal policy,” Vaishnaw said.

The Railway Minister claimed that indigenously-developed Vande Bharat Express, one of the fastest trains manufactured in the country, has been running smoothly without any major breakdown for the last two years.

“More such Vande Bharat express trains are being manufactured at the ICF and will be put into service soon,” he said.
