I-T raids in Bhubaneswar; Rs 5 crore cash seized from SUV

Bhubaneswar: Ahead of the second phase of elections in Odisha, Income Tax officials today seized Rs 5 crore cash from an SUV during raids at the Surya Nagar area in Bhubaneswar.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of Income Tax officials stopped the vehicle belonging to a contractor namely Nihar Ranjan Mandhata from the Jajpur district at Surya Nagar area in the capital city and seized a huge amount of cash.

The raids are underway at the residence of the contractor in Jajpur.
