Bhubaneswar, Jul 29:
Odisha’s wonder boy Budhia Singh today made it clear to the Khordha District Child Welfare Committee (CWC) that he will not return to the Sports Hostel.
Budhia and his mother Sukanti Singh today informed the CWC in writing that the wonder boy would not return to the Sports Hostel.
The mother-son duo had come to the CWC for appearance before it.
The CWC had lodged a complaint with the Nayapalli police station alleging that the wonder boy was abducted while it had issued a notice to a Mumbai-based film producer Subhamitra Sen, who has produced the biopic on Budhia- titled 'Budhia Singh: Born to Run' seeking the whereabouts of marathon boy on July 16. The CWC had sought a reply from the producer within three days.
Notably, Sukanti Singh mother of Budhia on their arrival from Mumbai on Wednesday had told reporters that her son was not going to return to the Sports Hostel in Bhubaneswar.
Budhia, who came into the limelight by running a 65-kilomere distance from Puri to Bhubaneswar at a stretch when he was only six years old, said that in the hostel he felt like being lodged in a jail.
The wonder boy said: "I feel like lodged in a jail. There is no proper training for me.”
It may be mentioned here that Budhia had not reported to the Sports Hostel in Bhubaneswar, after the summer vacation giving rise to speculations over his disappearance. The wonder boy had been undergoing training at the Sports Hostel since he was seven in 2007.
