Bhubaneswar:  The core committee of Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Women’s Entrepreneurship Committee announced the launch of Odisha’s first Women’s Entrepreneurship Committee. This was announced at a press meet held at a city-based hotel here today.

ICC Women’s Entrepreneurship Committee (IWEC), first of its kind, has been formed by ICC Odisha State Council to address the growing needs of women entrepreneurs and business leaders in the state. It is a committee of 40 enterprising women members led by Sukirti Patnaik as the Convener and Chidatmika Khatua as the co-convener along with 10 core advisory committee members.

 The meeting was presided by Sukirti Patnaik- Managing Director of Indulge, Chidatmika Khatua- Managing Trustee of Aryabhatta B School, Tanaya Patnaik- Executive Director of Kanak News and Radio Choklate 104 FM at Eastern Media Limited and J B Pany- Co-Chairman ICC Odisha.

Stating the core objectives of the committee to promote women empowerment, entrepreneurship and business development, education skill development and employment, Sukirti Patnaik said, “We are a highly spirited team of business owners and our aim is to encourage women to pursue their passion, start new ventures and support each other in their entrepreneurial journey.”

Chidatmika Khatua said that the committee’s aim is to empower women through entrepreneurship.

“There are women in various rural areas seeking opportunities for skill development and want a local platform for it. We will groom them and help enhance their skills to ensure they get good market value for their work,” Khatua added.

ICC will host a mega “Women's Leadership Summit” on January 11, next year here to inaugurate the ICC women’s Entrepreneurship Committee.  Samantha Kochhar, Managing Director of Kochhar Group of Companies will grace the occasion as the chief guest. Among the other guests will be actress and model Mugdha Godse and women captains from India Airforce to inspire aspiring women entrepreneurs.

Some of the events that IWEC is planning to conduct next year are trade fair by women entrepreneurs, seminar by national business leaders, industry visits to discern the latest processes and protocol, women entrepreneurship awards, digital marketing and brand building, networking sessions and work-life balance.
