Idols of deities to be immersed in Odisha as Durga Puja comes to an end

Bhubaneswar: With the Durga Puja festival coming to an end, idols of the deities will be immersed in Odisha today.

A total of four artificial ponds have been created on the banks of the Kuakhai and Daya rivers here for immersion of the idols.

As many as 17 platoons of police force have been deployed in the city to ensure smooth conduct of idol immersion processions.

The puja committees have been apprised about routes in the city for procession. The idols will be carried in procession from the puja mandaps to the artificial ponds for ritualistic immersion.

Arrangements have been made by the Twin City Commissionerate Police for management of vehicular movement.

The sound of DJ music during the procession has been restricted to 65 decibels.

In Cuttack city, three artificial ponds have been created for the immersion of the idols at Devi Gada, where around 170 idols will be immersed.
