Idols of Lord Ganesh made with biscuits, camphor cubes attract devotees in Twin City

Bhubaneswar/Cuttack: A cultural outfit named Mahadev Youth Club of Gadakana locality here observed Ganesh Puja today in a unique manner, like the previous years.

The club prepared a 10 feet-high idol of the deity entirely with biscuits of around 600 packets. The idol was made by artisans from West Bengal over a period of 25 days.

“Unique appearance of the Lord has been attracting many devotees. We have always tried to make nature and eco-friendly idols without making use of chemical. We want to pass on a positive message of conservation of our environment to the society,” the outfit’s chief Pian Jena Said.

Similarly, Sangram Club of Potapokhari locality in Cuttack made an idol with 25 kg of camphor.
