Illegal arms manufacturing unit busted in Odisha capital

Bhubaneswar: The Twin City Commissionerate police arrested a man engaged in illegal arms manufacturing last evening, here.

The accused, identified as Nrusingha Nayak, aged 45 years is a resident of Sarakantara and employee of Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT).

Acting on a tip off, the police raided a government residential quarter yesterday and unearthed materials used in making country-made pistols.

“We recovered brass pipes, gun powder and other materials used in manufacturing guns, along with three unfinished revolvers. More details will be divulged after the preliminary investigation and interrogation are completed,” informed Cuttack Bhubaneswar Commissioner of Police Satyajit Mohanty.
