Labour trafficking: 50 held in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Launching a major drive against illegal labour trafficking, Odisha police arrested as many as 50 agents and middlemen from three districts last night.

The accused persons involved in the illegal trade were arrested during simultaneous drive in Rayagada, Nabarangpur and Kalahandi districts on Thursday, informed Odisha DGP Bijay Kumar Sharma on Twitter today.

He said an investigation is underway to trace their links in the trafficking ring.

Last week, at least 41 middlemen were arrested in Balangir and Nuapada districts for allegedly trafficking labourers to other states.
