ILS Director Ajay Parida’s mortal remains reach Odisha; last rites to be performed with full state honours

Bhubaneswar: Mortal remains of Institute of Life Sciences (ILS) Director Ajay Parida, who passed away following a cardiac arrest yesterday, arrived here on a special flight from Guwahati today.

Family members of the noted researcher were present at Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) here, when his mortal remained arrived early this morning and later taken to his Bhubaneswar residence.

His mortal remains will be taken to the ILS office here, where arrangements have been made for officials and employees to pay their last respect to him.

Last rites of the official will be performed at his native at Bhagabanpur in Jajpur district with full state honours later in the day.  Police personnel and senior district officials, including the district Collector will remain present.

A pal of gloom has descended on the village of the ILS Director after his untimely demise yesterday.
