IMD issues thunderstorm alert for 3 districts in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) here today issued thunderstorm and lightning warning for as many as three districts of Odisha.

The districts are Koraput, Ganjam and Gajapati and the alert would remain in effect from 4.30 pm to 8.30 pm, the Met office forecasted.

Latest doppler weather radar and satellite imageries indicate that thunderstorm accompanied with hail and gusty surface wind speed reaching 50 to 60 kmph likely to occur over the districts of Koraput, Ganjam and Gajapati between 16.30 hrs and 20.30 hrs, an IMD bulletin issued by its Regional Centre here this afternoon said.
