IMD predicts dense fog in several Odisha districts for 2 days

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted dense fog in several Odisha districts for at least two days.

The IMD regional centre here has issued yellow warning of dense fog for one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Gajapati, Ganjam, Koraput and Rayagada on January 2 (Monday).

Besides, shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Kandhamal, Kalahandi and Mayurbhanj on January 2, said the IMD regional centre in its evening bulletin today.

According to the IMD, dense fog is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Kalahandi, Boudh and Sonepur on January 3 (Wednesday).

This apart, districts like Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Gajapati, Koraput, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Balangir are likely to witness shallow to moderate fog on January 3, said the IMD bulletin.

The minimum temperature (night temperature) will be above normal by 3-4 degree Celsius at most places across Odisha for next four-five days, said the IMD.
