IMD predicts hailstorm in these Odisha districts on March 31

Bhubaneswar: Several districts of Odisha, which have been witnessing rain and thunderstorm for the last few days, may face similar weather condition till April 2, said the IMD regional centre here today.

Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm occurred at a few places over the districts of Malkangiri, Cuttack, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Dhenkanal, Khurda and Bhadrak during the last 24 hours, added the IMD.

March 30: As per the IMD prediction, light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of North Odisha, Sonepur, Bolangir, Nuapada and at one or two places over the remaining districts of Odisha on March 30.

Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40kmph are very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nuapada, Bargarh, Bolangir, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Bhadrak and Balasore on the day, said the IMD.

March 31: Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at a many places over the districts of Odisha on March 31, said the IMD bulletin.

Similarly, thunderstorm with lightning and hailstorm with gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50kmph are very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack and Kendrapara on March 31.

Besides, heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Jajpur, Cuttack and Dhenkanal on the day, it added.

As per the IMD prediction, thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph are very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Angul, Deogarh and Boudh on March 31.

April 1: Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of coastal Odisha and at a few places over the districts of Interior Odisha on April 1.

Similarly, thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph are very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, , Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Koraput, Malkangiri and Rayagada on the day.

April 2: Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Coastal Odisha, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Rayagada, Malkangiri and Koraput on April 2. Dry weather is likely to prevail over the remaining districts of Odisha on the day, said the IMD.

There will be no large change in maximum temperature (day temperature) over the districts of Odisha during the next two days. However, the day temperature may fall by 2 to 3 degree Celsius in the subsequent at many places over the districts of Odisha during the subsequent three days, said the IMD.
