Bhubaneswar: The IMD has predicted heavy rainfall in several districts of Odisha till June 30.

The cyclonic circulation over northwest and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal extending up to 5.8 km above mean sea level tilting southwestwards with height persists, said the IMD regional centre in its weather bulletin today.

As per the IMD prediction, three districts in Odisha—Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara and Bhadrak—may witness heavy to very heavy rainfall on June 28 (Friday).

Similarly, the IMD has predicted heavy rainfall in Balasore, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Puri, Khurda, Cuttack, Jajpur, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh and Sundargarh districts on the day.

This apart, thunderstorm with lightning accompanied with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph is likely to occur in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj districts on June 28.

According to the IMD, three districts—Sundargarh, Jharsuguda and Bargarh—may witness heavy to very heavy rainfall on June 29 (Saturday). Besides, heavy rainfall is very likely to occur in Sambalpur, Deograh, Sonepur and Boudh districts on the day.

Similarly, heavy rainfall may lash Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Bargarh, Keonjhar and Deogarh districts on June 30 (Sunday), said the IMD in its weather bulletin today.
