IMD predicts light rain or thundershower in these Odisha districts on October 26

Bhubaneswar: Due to a cyclonic circulation lying over westcentral Bay of Bengal and adjoining south Coastal Andhra Pradesh and extending up to 1.5 km above mean sea level, light rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Odisha during next 24 hours, India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre in Bhubaneswar forecasted today.

In its mid-day bulletin, the IMD said, “The Cyclonic Storm ‘Hamoon’ over coastal Bangladesh moved nearly northeastwards with a speed of 10 kmph during the past six hours, weakened into a Deep Depression and lay centered at 0830 hours IST of 25th October over southeast Bangladesh and adjoining Mizoram near latitude 22.4°N and longitude 92.4°E, about 60 km east of Chittagong (Bangladesh) and 160 km south-southeast of Aizawl (Mizoram). It is very likely to move northeastwards and weaken further into a Depression during next six hours and into a well marked low pressure area during subsequent six hours.”

The highest maximum temperature of 34.6°C was recorded at Paralakhemundi and the lowest minimum temperature of 17.0°C was recorded at Phulbani in the plains of Odisha.

Light rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore, and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.

For Thursday (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 26.10.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 27.10.2023)

Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the districts of Odisha.
