IMD predicts rain, thundershower in Odisha districts for next 2 days; check details

Bhubaneswar: With Low Pressure Area formed over south Andaman Sea under the influence of cyclonic circulation over South Andaman Sea, light to moderate rain and/or thundershower is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Odisha during next two days, India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre in Bhubaneswar forecasted today.

In its evening bulletin, the IMD mentioned, “The Low Pressure Area over south Andaman Sea and adjoining Malacca Strait persists at 1430 hours IST of today, the 27th November. It is likely to move westnorthwestwards and intensify into a Depression over southeast Bay of Bengal around 29th November, 2023. Thereafter, it is likely to move northwestwards and intensify further into a cyclonic storm over southeast Bay of Bengal during subsequent 48 hours.”

Minimum temperatures observed no large change over the districts of Odisha. They were markedly above normal at one or two places, appreciably above normal at a few places over the districts of Interior Odisha, above normal at one or two places over the districts of Interior Odisha and at a few places over the districts of Coastal Odisha and normal at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha.

The highest maximum temperature of 32.2°C was recorded at Paralakhemundi and the lowest minimum temperature of 12.2°C was recorded at Keonjhargarh in the plains of Odisha.

For Monday (Valid up to 0830 hrs IST of 28.11.2023)

Light rain is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Deogarh, Angul and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.

For Tuesday (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 28.11.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 29.11.2023)

Light to moderate rain/thundershower is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Bolangir, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and dry weather very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.
