IMD predicts rain, thundershower in Odisha districts for next 3 days; check details

Bhubaneswar: Due to trough in easterly at mean sea level over Comorin area to westcentral Bay of Bengal off Andhra Pradesh coast, light to moderate rain and/or thundershower is very likely to occur at one or two places over Odisha districts during the next three days (i.e till November 25), India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre in Bhubaneswar forecasted today.

In its evening bulletin, the IMD regional centre mentioned, “A Cyclonic Circulation is likely to emerge over South Andaman Sea and neighbourhood around 25th November. Under its influence, a Low Pressure Area is likely to form over South Andaman Sea and neighbourhood around 26th November. It is likely to move westnorthwestwards and intensify into a Depression over Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining Andaman Sea around 27th November. The Trough in easterly at mean sea level over Comorin area to westcentral Bay of Bengal off Andhra Pradesh coast extending up to 3.1 km above mean sea level has become less marked.”

Minimum temperatures observed marked fall at one or two places over the districts of North Coastal Odisha, marked rise at one or two places over the districts of South Interior Odisha and no large change at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha. They were below normal at one or two places, markedly above normal at one or two places, appreciably above normal at one or two places over the districts of Interior Odisha and at a few places over the districts of Coastal Odisha, above normal at a few places and normal at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha.

The highest maximum temperature of 33.3°C was recorded at Malkangiri and the lowest minimum temperature of 15.5°C was recorded at Rourkela and Sundergarh in the plains of Odisha.

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, and dry weather very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.
