Bhubaneswar: With a trough running from east Assam to north Odisha across Gangetic West Bengal, thunderstorm with lightning accompanied by gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 KMPH is very likely to occur at one or two places over several districts of Odisha till May 15. The IMD regional centre in Bhubaneswar today issued Yellow alert for the next five days.

In its mid-day bulletin, the IMD mentioned, “Maximum temperatures observed marked rise at a few places over the districts of South Odisha and at one or two places over the districts of North Coastal Odisha, appreciable rise at a few places over the districts of North Odisha and South Interior Odisha and no large change at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha. They were appreciably below normal at a few places over the districts of Interior Odisha, below normal at a few places over the districts of Odisha, above normal at a few places over the districts of Coastal Odisha and normal at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha.”

Temperature forecast: No large change in Maximum (day) temperature during next four to five days at many places over the districts of Odisha.

The highest maximum temperature of 40.0°C was recorded yesterday at Bolangir and Nuapada and the lowest minimum temperature of 20.0°C was recorded at Dhenkanal in the plains of Odisha.
