Bhubaneswar: Severe heatwave condition is likely to prevail in at least 10 districts of Odisha on June 19 (Monday), predicted the IMD in its weather bulletin today.
As per the prediction, severe heatwave condition is very likely to prevail at a few places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Bolangir, Boudh, Kandhamal, Angul and Deogarh on June 19 (tomorrow). The IMD has issued Orange warning for these districts.
This apart, heatwave condition is very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Nuapada, Kalahandi, Nayagarh, Khurda, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj tomorrow, said the IMD.
The MeT department has predicted thunderstorm with lightning at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Jajpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Nabarangapur, Koraput and Malkangiri on Monday.
Similarly, light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Gajapati, Ganjam, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangapur, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Mayurbhanj and Balasore and at one or two places over the remaining districts of Odisha on the day, added the IMD.
