Bhubaneswar: The IMD has predicted thunderstorm with lightning in south Odisha districts on May 4 (Saturday).
As per the IMD forecast, thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada and Koraput on May 4 (tomorrow).
However, heatwave condition is very likely to prevail over the districts of Angul, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Boudh, Balangir, Sonepur, Sambalpur and Jharsuguda on Saturday, predicted the IMD while issuing a Yellow warning in this regard.
According to the IMD, heatwave condition prevailed at one or two places over the districts of Balangir, Boudh, Nuapada, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Keonjhar and Nayagarh during last 24 hours.
On the other hand, light to moderate rainfall occurred at one or two places over the districts of Ganjam, Malkangiri, Rayagada and Khurda during the period, said the IMD in its weather report today.
“There will be no large change in maximum temperature (day temperature) during the next three days. However, the maximum temperature may fall by 3-4 Degree Celsius at many places in the state thereafter,” added the IMD.
