Bhubaneswar: Due to prevalent monsoon trough and a cyclonic circulation, thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places in 15 districts of Odisha during the next 24 hours. India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre issued Yellow Warning for next five days.

In its evening bulletin, the IMD said, “Southwest Monsoon has been subdued over Odisha. The trough from Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim to northwest Bay of Bengal now seen as a cyclonic circulation over east Bangladesh and neighbourhood at 0.9 Km above mean sea level with a trough between 1.5 and 3.1 Km above mean sea level and runs roughly along Longitude 90°E to the north of Latitude 20°N. A cyclonic circulation lies over northwest Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood at 5.8 Km above mean sea level.”

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of North Coastal Odisha, Keonjhar Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh, Dhenkanal, Angul, Boudh and at a few places over the rest districts of Odisha.

The highest maximum (day) temperature of 36.0oC was recorded at Puri and the lowest minimum (night) temperature of 23.3oC was recorded at Balasore in the plains of Odisha
