IMIS students stage street play against atrocities on women in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Aug 31:

Students of  Odisha-based Institute of Management and Information Science (IMIS) staged a street play at the Old Bus Stand here to raise public awareness on the deplorable status of women in the society.Street Play

The show was part of the ‘Stop Violence against Women’ campaign.

In the street theatre show the IMIS students tried to highlight the abuse that women are subjected to in daily life and the role the society could play to deal with the problem.

As part of the effort, the students collected thumb impressions from the public to elicit their pledge for the campaign.

This programme was formallyinaugurated by top BJP leader and former MLA Pratap Sarangi.

Among others, HK Patnaik, Director General of IMIS, Dr K K Beuria, Advisor of IMIS and Prof Abhijit Panda lauded the efforts of the IMIS students to spread social awareness on such an important issue.
