Bhubaneswar: The Twin City Commissionerate Police have erected barricades across the capital city to restrict movement of private vehicles during lockdown due to coronavirus outbreak.
The move came a day after many denizens of the city were yesterday seen commuting with their vehicles despite restriction on movement of private vehicles.
However, persons engaged in organisations/agencies permitted to operate during the period as listed in the government’s official notification regarding the lockdown will be exempted.
Commissioner of Police, Twin City Police Commissionerate, Sudhanshu Sarangi has issued a clarification in this regard.
Don’t panic:People are in 2 categories:
>emergency workers
>others who might need to travel.
Emergency workers are getting Vehicle passes & can use their identity card till passes are issued. Others will be permitted for specific purpose & duration for eg. for going to hospital.— Dr Sudhanshu Sarangi (@SarangiSudhansu) March 23, 2020
