In Pics: Over 1400 freshwater turtles seized in Odisha's Malkangiri

Malkangiri: Officials of Odisha Forest Department today seized more than 1400 freshwater turtles from a pickup van in Kalimela block of Odisha's Malkangiri district.

According to reports, the reptiles were being smuggled from Kakinada in Andhra Pradesh.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of officials led by DFO Samrat Gouda intercepted the vehicle and seized as many as 1416 freshwater turtles.

Three persons have been arrested in this connection.
