India-born Parag Agrawal new CEO of Twitter
Bhubaneswar: Parag Agrawal, an Indian-born technology executive, was appointed the new CEO of Twitter.
After Jack Dorsey stepped down as Twitter CEO on Monday, Parag was unanimously appointed as Twitter CEO.
Bret Taylor will become board chair of Twitter.
“I am honoured and humbled. And I’m grateful for your continued mentorship and your frinedship. I’m grateful for the service that you built, the culture, soul, and purpose you fostered among us and for leading the company through really significant challenges,” Parag wrote in a message to Dorsey.
Parag assumed the charge of CEO of the San Francisco-based company today.

Agrawal said: “I look forward to building on everything we have accomplished under Jack’s leadership and I am incredibly energised by the opportunities ahead. Dorsey returned to lead the company as CEO in 2015 despite being forced out of the post in 2008.
In a letter to employees, Dorsey said he will serve out his term on the board of directors until “May-ish” when he will also leave that position.
New CEO Agrawal joined the company in 2011 as an ads engineer, eventually taking the title of CTO in 2018.
