Indian pangolin rescued from firm in Odisha

Nirakarpur: An endangered Indian pangolin was rescued by forest department from a firm in Godipada in Khurda district yesterday.

The thick-tailed pangolin will be deported to Nandankanan zoological park in Bhubaneswar, said forest officials Prabhakar Dalei, Pradip Kumar Samantray and Baina Pahadsingh.

According to reports, the pangolin had entered into a firm at around 10 am on Thursday in Godipada. After getting information from company officials, the forest officials rushed the spot and rescued it.

The age of pangolin is assumed to be 4-5 years and it weighs over 4 kg.
