Indian women’s hockey team beats Canada 4-2

Glasgow, July 24:

The Indian women’s hockey team won their Pool A opener against Canada 4-2 on the first day of action at the Commonwealth Games here Thursday.

Jaspreet Kaur scored a brace while Poonam Rani and Rani Rampal hit a goal apiece for the winners. Brienne Stairs and Karli Johansen scored a goal apiece for Canada.

India will next take on New Zealand July 27 at the Glasgow National Hockey Centre here.
