‘Industrial activities allowed in Odisha during night curfew, weekend shutdown’

Bhubaneswar: At a time when the State government functionaries geared up to ensure restrictions during night curfew and weekend shutdown are adhered from today, Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra clarified industries and related activities will be allowed to function as usual.

The Chief Secretary, however, stated the organizations and industrial units would make sure the Covid protocols are followed strictly during the night curfew and weekend shutdown.

“All industries have been directed to do adequate provisions for checking the Covid infection in their work places and campuses,” the Chief Secretary added.

Worth mentioning, amid the surge in Covid cases, the State government has decided to clamp night curfew in urban areas of 20 districts from 9 PM to 5 AM from April 17.

Similarly, night curfew will be imposed in other 10 districts bordering Chhattisgarh States from 6 PM to 5AM. Weekend shutdown has also come into force in the 10 districts from April 17.
