Odisha cadre IAS officer Injeti Srinivas takes over as SAI director

Injeti Srinivas, A 1983 cadre IAS officer from Odisha, has taken over as the new Director General of Sports Authority of India (SAI).

Srinivas will continue to hold the additional charge of chairman of National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority till alternative arrangements are made, a SAI release said.

Srinivas is closely associated with the department of sports and was involved in the preparation of the National Sports Code, 2011.

Besides, he had a major role in the formation of the National Sports Development Fund through the contributions of Board for Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) and other corporate houses during his stint as the joint secretary in Sports ministry.

He was also the principal secretary for Sports and Youth Services department of the Odisha government.
