Bhubaneswar: A servitor of the Shree Jagannath Temple in Odisha's Puri, who had sustained injuries during the Ratha Jatra in the pilgrim town, died while undergoing treatment at AIIMS here, today.
The deceased was identified as Nakula Bhoi (72).
A portion of the rope of Lord Balabhadra's Taladhwaja chariot had snapped on the day of Bahuda near Market Chhak in Puri, leaving grievous injuries on Bhoi's face.
He was initially rushed to the Puri District Headquarters Hospital and later shifted to AIIMS in the capital city for better treatment.
However, he succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment at the healthcare facility.
A pall of gloom descended on the servitor fraternity after the demise of Bhoi.
