The secretary said he had conducted the inquiry as he was ordered by the state government to do so adding that he has taken all aspects into consideration in his report.

However, he maintained that disclosing contents and findings of the report was not within his scope.

“I was asked by the government to conduct an inquiry and submit a report on the incident of bottle pelting at Barabati Stadium. I have already submitted the report taking all aspects into consideration. It’s not within my scope to reveal the contents of the report,” Tripathy told reporters.

Notably, spectators in the stands had thrown water bottles into the field after being disappointed at the poor performance of the home team during the T 20 International match between India and South Africa on October 5 at the Barabati Stadium.

The state government had ordered the Home secretary to conduct an inquiry on the incident and to suggest measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
