Intense rainfall likely to lash these Odisha places

Bhubaneswar: Heavy rainfall is likely to lash at least eight districts of Odisha today, the Regional Meteorological Centre forecasted.

The districts likely to experience such weather condition are Koraput, Malkangiri, Nuapada, Balangir, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur and Gajapati.

Moderate thunderstorm and lightning with one or two spells of moderate to intense spells of rainfall are likely to occur at one or two places in these districts till 1.30 pm.

Heavy downpour in Malkangiri might worsen the situation in the district as multiple bridges have been inundated due to torrential rain.

On the other hand, cyclonic circulation over northwest Bay of Bengal & neighbourhood extending upto 7.6 km above mean sea level tilting southwestwards with height persists. Under its influence, a low pressure area is likely to form during next 2-3 days.
