Interesting watch: This Gopalpur art fest video is for all those who missed it this year!

Bhubaneswar/Gopalpur: Gopalpur hosted the second edition of PAGo (Public Arts in Gopalpur) on April 14 and 15 to promote the maritime and ecological history of this beach town of Odisha this year.

To integrate the glorious heritage of the place with art, PAGo roped in local and international artists and showcase the native art forms and rich cultural traditions of Gopalpur and Ganjam. Odisha Tourism released a short aftermovie of PAGo, showcasing Gopalpur as an art town and eco-retreat hub.

From eye-catching mural paintings to art installations, PAGo boasted of folklore and cultural performances, central to the cultural heritage of Gopalpur and Ganjam.

“The buildings adjacent to the beach are now a kaleidoscope of colours with murals all over their facade. There were also artists who painted murals in the stark black-and-white,” said Sophia Simon, the founder of Detour Odisha, makers of the video.

Workshops on sand casting and clay modelling, art and photo contests on maritime themes and music performances in the evening were also part of the itinerary of this two-day fest.

PAGo, (derived from the name of an appetiser of mixed condiments of the Odia gastronomical plate) conducted by Berhampur Development Authority, saw a myriad of incredible art installations and murals last year, as well.
